Diary of the Bougie Broad

Life through the eyes of a young, quirky, intelligent, bougie broad.

Bougie.  Snobby.  Bratty.  Spoiled.  Uppity.  Pretentious.  Stuck up.  Snotty.  Self-centered.  Vain.  Conceited.  Sadiddy.  Bitchy.  Selfish.  Yes I have heard them all.  Do these words truly describe me? Not so much.  But either way, these words and many others, have shaped my thinking, how I see the world, and how I live my life.  My blog entries are not meant to be deep, educational, or life changing.  Rather just thought provoking.  I want to foster conversation (good or bad).  Thank you for gracing me with your presence (or should you be thanking me...hmmmm... just kidding!)

Jay-Z and "his little person"

Are we really shocked and appalled that Jay-Z has a kid?  Isn’t he damn near 50 (lol)?  Of course this is all speculation and rumor, but I do believe it.  Isa-Jael (such a cute little boy) does favor Jigga.

What I don’t understand (I mean I do, but I don’t) is why he paid Shenelle Scott millions to keep his name off of the birth certificate.  It’s a damn shame that he isn’t claiming his son.  Some speculate that he did this because around the time that Isa-Jael was born he was beginning his relationship with Beyoncé and he didn’t want that to jeopardize their budding relationship.  Get outta here!  If you build a relationship on lies… yall know the rest.

I’m just blown (if the rumors are true) that he really denied his flesh and blood for a (potential) significant other.  I really hope that this isn’t the case lol.  *SMH*  We are so used to the media reporting about men who don’t claim their children because they don’t believe it’s theirs, but for someone to supposedly know it’s their child and not claim him… that’s so wrong.

What happened to being a man and accepting and acknowledging what he has done?  Talk about being a role model.  The last thing we need is for young, black men to think it is okay to pay off the mother of their children just so they don’t have to claim them.

I don’t know why I expected more from Jay-Z.  He just seems like someone who has been through a lot and is truly trying to live a positive life now… so why do something like this?  I really hope there is more to this story, but at the end of the day if this is true, what can you really say to make it better?  But I will try to give him the benefit of the doubt... this may all be a moot point.  Even if this isn’t true, it still makes you wonder.

Damn Jay.
