Life through the eyes of a young, quirky, intelligent, bougie broad.
Bougie. Snobby. Bratty. Spoiled. Uppity. Pretentious. Stuck up. Snotty. Self-centered. Vain. Conceited. Sadiddy. Bitchy. Selfish. Yes I have heard them all. Do these words truly describe me? Not so much. But either way, these words and many others, have shaped my thinking, how I see the world, and how I live my life. My blog entries are not meant to be deep, educational, or life changing. Rather just thought provoking. I want to foster conversation (good or bad). Thank you for gracing me with your presence (or should you be thanking me...hmmmm... just kidding!)
Thanks VaFashionista and GWS for hooking up with the latest Snoop comment. Damn it Snoop!
Snoop seems like he is a pretty cool guy and I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, but I don't know how I can support him this time around. I wonder if he was in his "right mind" (if you catch my drift) when he made this comment.
"It's a completely different scenario. "[Rappers] are not talking about no collegiate basketball girls who have made it to the next level in education and sports. We're talking about ho's that's in the 'hood that ain't doing sh—, that's trying to get a n*gga for his money. These are two separate things. First of all, we ain't no old-ass white men that sit up on MSNBC going hard on black girls. We are rappers that have these songs coming from our minds and our souls that are relevant to what we feel. I will not let them mutha——as say we in the same league as him." — Snoop Dogg
Snoop made these comments in an effort to point out differences between himself and Don Imus.
Who cares who makes the comments, the point is that NO ONE should be referring to women or anyone else as "nappy headed hos". Just because someone is in the street they are allowed to degrade someone? Just because a woman isn't "collegiate" she is a ho? If that isn't the craziest thing I have heard in a while, I don't know what is. I hope Snoop has a good PR rep working for him. Between him and his wife, they are going hard!
Last I heard, Rev. Al Sharpton was taking his complaints to the Hip-Hop community and record companies. I am interested to see how this pans out.

I wish Snoop and the rest of the rappers that choose to make a comment about Imus's behavior would really just be quiet; they've done enough damage. Reply to this
