Diary of the Bougie Broad

Life through the eyes of a young, quirky, intelligent, bougie broad.

Bougie.  Snobby.  Bratty.  Spoiled.  Uppity.  Pretentious.  Stuck up.  Snotty.  Self-centered.  Vain.  Conceited.  Sadiddy.  Bitchy.  Selfish.  Yes I have heard them all.  Do these words truly describe me? Not so much.  But either way, these words and many others, have shaped my thinking, how I see the world, and how I live my life.  My blog entries are not meant to be deep, educational, or life changing.  Rather just thought provoking.  I want to foster conversation (good or bad).  Thank you for gracing me with your presence (or should you be thanking me...hmmmm... just kidding!)

“The best darn Miss USA that there ever was!” Hmmmm….

So apparently being a good role model to young women means underage drinking, partying all hours of the night, possible drug use, and hooking up with Miss Teen USA (rumored of course).  In any other situation, I would say, “Do what you do.”  But this chick knew what she was potentially getting herself in to and there is no excuse for her behavior.  If she wasn’t ready for adjusting her lifestyle for a year, she shouldn’t have entered into this contest.

At the end of the day, being Miss USA is her job.  We all know that we must adjust how we act when working.  I understand that her job is basically her whole life for a year, but she needs to get it together.

I honestly don’t think the girl should have gotten a second chance and quite frankly I think this was all some big marketing scheme.  According to the Washington Post “He [Donald Trump] had expected…to terminate Conner's reign when the two met in the morning, but she impressed him with her sincerity and contriteness and the story of her humble origins in Kentucky and the way that New York City had swept her into its vortex of wickedness and sin.”  Give me a break!  The judges should have done a better job in picking a Miss USA who was mature enough to handle the pressure and responsibility rather than just picking a pretty face and Barbie look-alike.

I am pretty sure she was warned along the way before the media caught wind of her wild ways and I feel that the runner up should have been given the crown (I won’t even place the race card here).  But who am I lol.

And did you see her piss poor performance at the press conference?  She isn’t even a good actress!  I’m sorry I can’t feel sorry for the girl.  She is living rent free in one of the fabulous laceName w:st="on">TrumplaceName> laceType w:st="on">TowerlaceType> apartment in Manhattan, traveling the world, meeting all kinds of people and getting free stuff!  If she is going to throw away this opportunity, they need to let someone else try to be “the best darn Miss USA that there ever was” (maybe they should also invest in getting her a PR coach lol).

        Dear VaFashionista,

I am glad you are playing the race card!  You are very right though.  Vanessa Williams was dethroned for her pictures and apparently Ms. Tara Connors has some pictures showcasing her late night partying and drinking... how come she gets a second chance????

Clearly there is a double standard and this further supports my statement about this being all one big marketing scheme.

I agree with everything you both have said; however, it goes much deeper than Miss Teen USA. Beyond race, there is another issue - holding "celebrities" to a much LOWER standard than the "average American." For example, you can't tell me there is AT LEAST one person at your job that you would like to give one good ass whoopin to. However, you choose not to because in the "real world" you would get fired. We can't even have words with a coworker without having some sort of HR mediation. Now look at all of the fights athletes have gotten in over the last year alone! At the Nuggets vs. Knicks game the largest penalty was a 15 game suspension given to Carmelo Anthony. What does that show our children? How do other nations see us? These amazing Black men who have a God given talent and blessing to make it in a professional league fighting over some bullshit on nationwide television. This aint street ball - you're rich! Then we wonder why people still look at and treat us as monkeys and minstrals.
I'm definitely not justifying the madness between the fan and Ron Artest in Detroit either. The fan had no right to interfere with anything in the game. He should suffer reprocussions. In fact, I personally thought that was a good opportunity for a justified ass whoopin for the offender.
To summarize it, my opinion is that all celebrities need to have a reality check. Miss Teen USA doesn't deserve her thrown. The NBA and other leagues needs to stop with the bullshit fines and suspensions and hold their players to as high a standard as we would be held. I know a few people who would love the opportunity to take JR Smith's job - for a tenth of the salary (myself included)...
